Well, today, I met what I would consider to be the sketchiest person I have ever met in my life. Thus far.
I was downtown, near Front St. when this guy comes up to us. Obvoiusly homeless and out of it, clutching a bottle in his hand. He comes up to us and I suddenly realize what this fellow is drinking. Listerine. A bottle of nasty yellow Listerine. He talks to us. Tells us he's feeling sick. I wonder why. It was just so...surreal. But, according to Shaun, he had really nice breath. LOL!!!
And within minutes, I get spit on the first time in my life. Not by the bum, if thats what you're thinking. Shaun and I reveal that we're trying to write a play. And one of his friends says "One great play before..." (implying before you die) to which I give Shaun a look and tell him "Hey, you get to die the night before opening then"
Segue: This is a reference to Jonathon Larson, who wrote Rent, who did actually die the night before Rent opened.
So being appalled by what I said, he spits in my direction. Not necessarily intending to hit me, but he did nonetheless.
And in addition to being spit upon, he demands that I turn around 3 times counterclockwise to counter my statement. It was pretty funny actually.
In other news, Meggo has offered to pay my way for 4 days in Amsterdam/Europe. And I am tempted to take her up on it. I'm going to find out tomorrow if I can get the time off of work on short notice...*crosses fingers*
Because a)I'm sure it relates to my birthday coming up, b) we're going to be celebrating 1 year as of June 12th and c) we're officially intent on being life partners. So now I really do have a wife of sorts...errrr partner I mean. LOL!
Its been a strange but good day. Though I am sore. (I'm getting old...I know, anybody ollder than 24 is probably laughing at this statement, but even my mother says I have the health problems of someone at least a decade older, so there)
I am actually happy.
Maybe things will be okay.
